Future Mobile

Future of Mobiles

Everything is going to be “mobile” in coming years!! From the watch you wear around your wrist to the car you drive!

According to Deloitte, more than 50 percent of computing devices sold globally will not be PC’s this year. While PC sales are likely to reach almost 400 million units, Deloitte’s estimate for combined sales of smartphones, tablets and non-PC netbooks is well over 400 million. This shift has prompted some analysts to proclaim that “The era of PC is over”. However, Deloitte’s view is that this is not the case: PC unit sales are expected to rise by more than 15 percent every year.

Mobile app analytics firm Flurry has released a report comparing the daily engagement of smartphone users on mobile apps vs. Web browsing on the PC. Flurry says that daily time spent in mobile apps has now surpassed web consumption. The average user now spends 9% more time
using mobile apps than the Internet.

Another advertising and research firm, Nielsen, also has the same story to say, supported by its latest statistics on smartphone sales in the US. They suggest that an important tipping point is on the horizon: The majority of mobile phone users will soon own smartphones, as opposed to feature phones.

All three researches conclude to only one thing—Mobile is the future!! Phones have become more than a means of calling and messaging. People want to stay connected 24×7 through Facebook via their smartphones and tablets. “Everyone wants everything everywhere”!!
